Karen Schneller

LMFT, CEDS-C

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor in the state of California, Texas, and Ohio. With over 18+ years of experience, I specialize in working with young girls and women who suffer from mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders – helping them heal and reclaim their lives. Everyone has the right to occupy space in this world, no matter their size. I am driven to change the narrative when it comes to diet culture and create greater accessibility to trauma-informed care.

Growing up in a larger body, I dealt with weight stigma and trauma on a daily basis. Over the years, I learned more about myself and my own capacity to heal. Trying to find your way in a world where you sometimes literally don’t fit can be traumatizing. My own pain and healing with food and body-hatred inspired me to pursue a career where I could help others on their path to healing too. After graduate school, I immediately went into the field of eating disorder recovery, gaining years of experience working in treatment centers, recovery communities, and private practice settings.

I’ve had the honor of witnessing hundreds of girls and women – who are stuck in the pit of self-hatred and shame – find their way back to themselves. I guide my clients on their path to healing and recovery from depression and anxiety, weight stigma, eating disorders and trauma. I help them get clear on what matters most, while empowering them to actively challenge preconceptions of how women should look, talk, and behave. Above all, my goal is to help women regain their strength, self-love, and the belief in their worthiness so they can show up in the world with a new perspective.

Samantha Stuppy

Practice Coordinator

After graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2019, I quickly realized that working in a profession designed to help others improve their lives was the path I wanted to take. I joined the Embodied Wisdom Counseling team in 2021 as the Practice Coordinator, connecting clients to our wonderful team of therapists. From the very moment a client reaches out, my goal is to make them feel welcome, safe, and proud for taking this brave step toward healing. My intention is to make this process as simple and seamless as possible for clients so they can get the care they need without holding back.

Through this work, I feel such a strong sense of purpose and honor knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of others. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel the world and connect with people from different cultures. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening and acknowledging that each and every one of us sees the world differently. And for this reason, we all deserve to feel seen, heard, and valued.
